On Monday, 14th September 2015 insium participated in the fourth veski “inspiring women” professional development and networking event. insium director and founder Dina Pozzo was joined on the stage of the Spring Street Conference Centre by Natalie Collard (Corporate Affairs Manager, Victoria/Tasmania, Telstra), Dr David Farmer (Postdoctoral Research Officer, Neurophysiology Division, Florey Institute of Neuroscience & Mental Health), Michelle Gallaher (Co-Founder/Creative Director, The Social Science), Dr Suzanne Miller (ARC Future Fellow, Senior Scientist, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Monash University) and Jack Walden (CEO, the c word). The panel was MC’d by Madeleine McManus (Director Industry Engagement, Monash University).

The professional development & networking event series run by veski provides the opportunity to hear from inspiring panelists, engage with peers in interactive workshops, and network with Victorian women and men across science, research, innovation and industry. At this event attendees heard from specialists in online and off-line media and communications, personal branding, as well as industry-based peers sharing tips on storytelling and “putting your best foot forward”.

Dina’s workshop focused on the use of strengths to build confidence, resilience and energy. She shared with the attendees that working with your strengths brings you energy, and you should therefore not only work with your known strengths, but seek to uncover your unrealised strengths to work with them as well. It’s empowering to share your strengths with someone else, and to seek feedback from others to help uncover unrealised strengths – this represents what you have to offer. By marshalling your realised strengths and maximising your unrealised ones you give yourself the opportunity to flourish and to reach your potential.
