But what is courage? What does courage look like in the workplace?
At insium, we offer that workplace courage is “an intentional constructive or moral action taken by an individual in the presence of perceived personal risk and uncertainty of outcome (personal or organisational) in order to resolve or avert a workplace issue.”
But what do others think?
There has been a call from Thought Leaders to develop courage; to take courage from a soft skill to one that is robust and operationalised.
At insium, we’re rising to this challenge to develop courage in others. One way to do so is to be inspired by the courageous stories of others.
So, what are some of these courageous stories?
We have conducted a number of interviews with leaders in the field of courage, as well as with courageous leaders to answer these questions. Some of these leaders are CEOs, Professors, Graduates; they are everyday people. At insium, we know that everyday people, each of us, has the courage within, we just need a light shone on it.
Join us as we share these interviews, these stories over the coming months. As you read each interview, reflect on:
- What resonates with you?
- How has your thinking about courage changed? Broadened? Deepened?
- What courageous acts have you demonstrated, that you are proud of?
- How do these stories inspire you to be courageous?
We will be publishing these stories at www.leadingwithcourage.com.au fortnightly, on Wednesday.
We hope you soak up and enjoy these stories and all resulting reflections. If you have a story to share, get in touch.
